The local gaming scene expanded its reach last October 4, as Philippine-based Online Gaming Company Massive Gaming introduced two new online shooter games that look to rock the gaming market: War Inc. and Mercenary Online.?

At their very first Press Launch held at Dad?s Ultimate Buffet in Glorietta 3, Makati City, the entire game and news body was invited to partake in the official unveiling of these projects. Led by President and CEO Miguel S. Limon, the entire staff and crew of Massive Gaming were present to showcase a fantastic display of new potential gems in the local gaming scene, both powered and created by names known in today?s growing video game industry. ?

Set at Lunch Hour, I arrived at the venue to warm greetings and fantastic delicacies courtesy of co-sponsor Dad?s Ultimate Buffet. After everyone finished dining and settling in, the show proper started, beginning with an introduction by the heads of Massive Gaming, followed by a welcome and thank you speech to those in attendance.?

First on the chart to be shown was War Inc. ? Developed by Online Warmongers CEO Sergey Titov, who is known for his contributions in the classic multiplayer online battle arena game League of Legends. Built with versatile customization options, adapting skills, and co-op play in mind, War Inc. boasts the kind of gameplay a shooter would fall in love with.Four different types of soldier classes can be chosen ? Assault, Medic, Recon, and Engineer. Each has their own specialization, and besides learning how to utilize abilities properly, players will have to constantly upgrade with War Points and Credits in order to survive the hostile environment of War Inc. The next game unveiled, Mercenary Online, can be considered to be the highlight of the presscon itself. Powered by UNREAL and the Nvida PhysX engines, this shooter is from the same developer as Gears of War, namely Epic Games.What separates it from just any other ordinary shooter is the ability to strike a ?Fatality? at the heat of battle, finishing your opponent off with a unique close up execution that?s just up close and personal. What?s more, you can play Co-Op together with friends and survive against hordes of the undead during Zombie Outbreak scenarios. Truly looking to be a remarkable feat, it?s being set up to be the first third person shooting game in the Philippines.
